Im a full time shift working EMD for QAS and a Mumma to the 4 legged fury type named Ella!

KJD started as an idea!

One day, in March of 2020, I was getting ready to visit a friend in Townsville. All I had was black and neutral colours to wear. I thought to myself, “wouldn’t it be nice to wear some bold & colourful earrings to uplift my outfit?” Next minute I’m out and about shopping for supplies to make some earrings.

“Some” earrings turned into 10 pairs, then 30 pairs, then 60 pairs and then next minute I have hundreds of pairs! Friends and familiy were getting earrings as gifts until it was suggested to get them out there for the public to enjoy. My sister-in-law and I attended the markets and it all blossomed from there.

It started as a way for me to deal with a traumatic time in my life, an outlet for the pain and sadness I was being faced with. I found creating was my release and what I needed to help me get through!

Creating gives me a mental release. A creative outlet that allows me to let go of the outside world and be in a happy bubble. It gets away from stress and the general every day ongoings in this world. I get to close the door behind me to my studio. Choose some colours and see what comes of it. It’s a place where I don’t have to worry or even really think. I just make, listen to music and podcasts, watch trashy TV shows, and what will be will be.
